Saviors of Detroit
The Saviors of Detroit (or SODs as their opponents call them) is a not-for-profit organization with an army of lawyers, doctors, and politicians who are at the ready to challenge any that disagree with this sentence. Their mission statement is simple: the full restoration of Detroit to its former glory without sole dependence on steel and car manufacturing, achieved with a combination of housing projects, community services, the restoration of various social services once shut down by the municipal government, and the negotiation of fair wages and employment by chemical and construction firms to get Detroit back on track. Their official slogan reads: “Saving Detroit, one precious soul at a time.” Their angelic symbolism, reference to saviors, and religiously-tinged rhetoric has earned more than a few complaints from the clergymen of Detroit who, by combination of media silence and 21st-century skepticism, wield less and less power among the starving, homeless, and/or desperate.
They maintain their main office in the GM Renaissance Center, in Tower 600, where they work closely with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and the satellite PENTEX office in the central tower.
